Hey everyone!
Had my '97 Savage since May and I love the little yellow bird!
Couple of questions though:
Has anyone been able to remove the baffles from the stock pipes? Can it be done w/o compromising the power and/or the smoothness(if you could call it 'smooth')? Is there a cheap way to make the bike LOUDER? I'm sick of my buddies with 100 cc's more displacement sounding like their bikes are all muscle while mine keeps up with them anyway!!!
Also, people keep saying that my bike's exhaust stinks. It smells like partially burnt gasoline. Is this normal? Does everyone else's Savage smell like a tractor/lawnmower running rich? Can I fix it without spending a couple hundred at the dealership (everything takes forever there and costs me MUCH more than I want to spend on my little bird . . .)
Also, is it reasonable to spend $$ to make her sound better/run better considering that I want to upgrade to an 800 at the end of next season? Does anyone out there have any recommendations for a Savage rider to upgrade to in the form of an 800?
